My photo story, Airscapes: United Arab Emirates, focused on the UAE's impending water issues.
Currently, the United Arab Emirates has one of the highest water consumption levels in the world per capita due to the stark desert climate and recent population boom. Rapid growth in the hotel, agriculture and construction sectors have multiplied the number of labor camps and residential buildings, severely increasing the demand for water. Groundwater reserves are projected to run out within 20 to 40 years. The following essay is a collection of aerial images illustrating the arid yet ever-changing topography of the UAE.
Special thanks to my wife Jasmine & friend Matt Eich. Both helped with editing the series and encouraged me to enter the work in this year's contest.
