wee haw!!!

on the way to the bank for a deposit i spotted this old horse at a yard sale. i smiled thinkin' about the days i used to hobble on my own bouncing horse.

i thought to myself "they just don't make 'em the way they used to."

when i got home my son peeked out the window while i unloaded his new pony. he ran to his room immediately.

"WEEE-Haww!" he exclaimed.

moments later he returned with the best western wear this side of the mississippi. cowboy hat, boots, flannel and a handkerchief.

as he rode off into the sunset i grabbed this frame before losing him in the dusk of a fall virginia sun.

second chance

i never intended to turn my random frames of roller derby into a book. however, one evening a friend of mine www.matteichphoto.com sent me an email and mentioned that he'd love to see a book come out of all this.

previously, my wife and derby extraordinaire, sweet n. lowdown, of the dominion derby girls - www.varollergirls.com had suggested the same idea. she's a solid editor and has a tough eye but i didn't really pay attention to her words. she’s a fan of my work so i wrote it off until matt rekindled the idea.

i always wanted to publish a book. originally i wanted to publish a novel, but then i realized i wasn't so good with the pen. later in life i found a camera or it found me. now, i think i have a second chance at realizing "the dream."
